Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck (/erkt/ /nək/ [already] [fact]) is a subtropical Town located in the Gumada Provence of the Kingdom of Hobben.

The name Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck is derived from the Dwarven language, as Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck was founded by Zëi Åxruqedrayd, who was culturaly Dwarvern.

Overview

Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck was founded durring the early 12th century in fall of the year 1144, by Zëi Åxruqedrayd. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Zëi Åxruqedrayd.

Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck was built using the conventions of Dwarvern durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck is buildings are arranged within a network of premissive paverstone streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck's minimaly adiquite are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Right off the bat Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. The new wealth has created some worrying attitudes in many passers by, such that it’s clear new laws have recently been enacted and enforced with such extreme scrutiny the locals seem to be going about their day as if by clockwork.

Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck. There’s a relatively new religion in Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.

Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century an otherwise minor earthquake shifted Creek Sandy. The resulting flood was isolated to the area around Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck, which was swallowed by the waters for several days. Ådehlÿ Lerx̄ Näck lost 182 people, 165 livestock, and 60 buildings in the disaster. The disaster is remembered as the Agony Drownings.
